Donate a Warm Christmas Meal Appeal

The Homeless Christmas Eve meal appeal event is happening on Christmas eve within Newcastle Cathedral, they are calling for the generous support of the North East community alongside Changing Lives, a charity that has been transforming lives since its inception as a soup kitchen in 1970.
You can donate a warm Christmas meal here – https://neoffers.co.uk/products/changing-lives-christmas-meal-appeal-north-east
From its humble beginnings, Changing Lives has expanded, aiding individuals navigating immense challenges such as homelessness, unemployment, recovery, abuse, or exploitation. Every year, they assist thousands in overcoming these obstacles, empowering them to lead independent, fulfilling lives. Their fundamental belief is in providing everyone with a secure home, a meaningful job, and a life free from addiction and abuse. They are firm in their conviction that with the right support, anyone can change their life for the better.
This Christmas Eve, Café 16 will warmly welcome Changing Lives, where their dedicated team will serve a hot meal to those in genuine need within our community. For a mere £5, your contribution can provide a warm Christmas Eve dinner to someone less fortunate in our local area. For many recipients, this might be their sole Christmas gift. Your donation could mean the world to someone, a small gesture making a huge difference in their holiday season.
As 2022 witnessed a concerning 26% increase in rough sleeping, there has been a corresponding rise in the demand for accommodations for the homeless. Changing Lives has experienced a surge in people seeking their support due to the prevailing cost-of-living crisis. This economic strain has disproportionately affected those already vulnerable, exacerbating their experiences of poverty and disadvantage.
Statistics reveal that over 80% of Changing Lives services observed a surge in individuals unable to meet their basic needs in 2022. Tragically, experiences of food scarcity and hunger have become all too common.
The collaboration between Changing Lives and Newcastle Cathedral through initiatives like the Lantern Initiative, inspired by the Cathedral’s Lantern Tower, aims to guide people through life’s challenging circumstances.
Rather than spending on festive luxuries like coffee or Christmas cards, consider redirecting that amount towards a £5 donation, potentially making someone’s Christmas brighter. Any excess funds raised beyond the Christmas Eve event will go toward providing essential food parcels and toiletry packs for those facing poverty in the North-East this winter, supporting them throughout the year.
In these challenging times, Changing Lives needs continuous support to ensure their invaluable work continues, offering sustained, meaningful assistance to individuals in our community. Besides one-time donations, there’s an option to make a small monthly contribution, ensuring support remains available throughout the year.
Your donation can truly make a difference this Christmas. If you’re unable to donate directly, simply sharing the campaign on social media can amplify the message and garner more support, making a larger impact in our local North East community.
Moreover, if you’re interested in fundraising for this cause or wish to involve your business, reach out to us at Info@NEoffers.co.uk. Your collaboration can significantly contribute to Changing Lives’ mission.

VAR official PUNISHED after Champions League PSG vs Newcastle howler

Following a contentious late penalty awarded to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) during their 1-1 draw against Newcastle, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) official involved in the decision has been replaced for an upcoming Champions League fixture. Tomasz Kwiatkowski, the Polish VAR official on duty at Parc des Princes, deemed a handball by Newcastle’s Tino Livramento, leading to Kylian Mbappe converting a 98th-minute penalty, salvaging a point for PSG managed by Luis Enrique.
See our reaction here:
This outcome potentially affects the Champions League group standings significantly, as PSG retains their second position, edging two points ahead of Newcastle, with one group game remaining. The penalty call didn’t originate from referee Szymon Marciniak but was reversed after Kwiatkowski prompted him to review the incident on the VAR screen.
Originally slated for VAR duty in the upcoming Real Sociedad versus RB Salzburg clash, Kwiatkowski has been replaced, according to reports. The replacement for the Polish official hasn’t been disclosed yet. Kwiatkowski, 45, frequently officiates in Poland’s top football league and possesses experience in European competitions.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe expressed dissatisfaction with the VAR decision, emphasizing its timing and impact, stating, “I feel it is a poor decision and it’s hugely frustrating for us, as you know how little time there is left in the game. There is nothing we can do about it now.”
For Newcastle to secure a spot in the last 16 of the Champions League, they must defeat AC Milan at St James’ Park on the final matchweek while hoping PSG doesn’t secure a victory against Borussia Dortmund.
