Former Chelsea Captain, John Terry can’t believe nobody has signed ex-Chelsea striker, Diego Costa. The striker is currently a free agent and Newcastle were reported to be interested in the striker this past January.
The Chelsea legend, who played alongside Costa at Stamford Bridge, questioned why the free agent is still looking for a club.
There was rumours between Costa and Newcastle during the January transfer window, Costa is a two-time Premier League winner and he scored 52 times in 89 games for the London club.
Newcastle instead payed £25m for relegation rivals striker, Chris Wood. The New Zealand International joined on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Costa’s current status as a free agent, means any club can sign the 33 year old, whenever they may choose.
The transfer window just gone, had the second most amount spent by English top flight clubs and Costa’s old team mate, John Terry can’t figure out why no team has signed the striker.
Costa recently left Atletico Mineiro and is now on the look out for his next club.
He wont be the same the player he was 7 years ago when he came to Chelsea, in regards to using pace and sharpness however, the striker will certainly know how to score a goal given the chance.
His aggression could be used and applied to the relegation battle that Newcastle find themselves in, no stranger to a booking or a straight red card. Costa has received a total of 118 career yellow cards as well as 5 straight reds.
When available on a free, it may be worth snapping Costa up when the chance is there/
