Newcastle Prepared To Offer Bruno Guimarães A New Deal

According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle are preparing a new deal for midfield star Bruno Guimarães.
The Brazilian has thrived as the heart of Newcastle’s midfield three since he arrived at St James’ Park from Lyon in January 2022.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Newcastle are willing to give Guimarães a pay rise as a part of the new deal.
His impressive performances in England’s top flight have attracted interest from some of the game’s biggest names, which is why The Magpies are keen to offer Guimarães a new deal.
Spanish giants, Real Madrid, have been in conversation with Guimarães, but he firmly stated it was just a “chat” and he has his complete focus on The Magpies.
Eddie Howe will be desperate to keep Guimarães on Tyneside as he is the type of player Howe will want to build his team around going forward.
"He's done unbelievably well. He's fit in so well and epitomised the team spirit and the drive we need to be successful. I think the supporters have seen that and taken to him from day one. Off the pitch he's been brilliant. On the pitch he speaks for himself." pic.twitter.com/IKr7hkN8Iw

Most recently, the 24-year-old scored a brace in The Toon’s 5-1 win over Brentford on Saturday and earned a spot in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week.

Bruno Guimarães has looked more than comfortable playing in all of the midfield roles in Eddie Howe’s 4-3-3 formation, making him the complete midfielder.
The former Lyon midfielder has shown he has the ability to score and create goals from midfield while also being a great ball-winner in the middle of the park.

Guimarães trumps the players that play in his position for the top six clubs in every stat you would associate with midfielders. You can see why he is attracting interest from the very biggest names in the game.
The Magpies’ signed the Brazilian for just £35,000,000, which was a fantastic piece of business from the club’s new owners in their first transfer window.
Newcastle fans have particularly taken a shine to the way Guimarães has immersed himself into life in the city.
The Toon travel to Manchester United on Sunday hoping to get their first win at Old Trafford since Yohan Cabaye netted in Toon’s 1-0 win back in 2013.

Harvey Barnes Injury worse than thought – Confirmed

Confirmation has come in this morning that Newcastle United Winger Harvey Barnes has been ruled out until 2024.
The winger doesn’t need surgery however the foot injury will keep him out for 3 months. Eddie Howe has spoken about the injury: “It’s come at a shocking time for him — he was just finding his rhythm & getting to know what is expected of him.”
Eddie Howe on Injuries:
“We think he’s going to be out for around three months. No surgery required which is good news but his foot is now in a boot. It’s an injury underneath his toe.
He’s now started his recovery and he’s got to rest to let it recover then we can build him back up again.”
On Callum Wilson and Sven Botman:
“We’re going to see today. Callum has very minor hamstring tightness.
We’ll give him every chance of being available. Same with Sven – we’ll make a late check on him.”
On Emil Krafth:
“Emil will play for the U21s tonight. It’s really, really good to see him come back and hopefully do well today.”

Watch Yankuba Minteh score first goal for Feyenoord in 5-1 win on Sunday

Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh has scored his first competitive goal for Feyenoord, scoring in Sunday’s 5-1 win over FC Utrecht.
After starting in their 6-1 win over Almere City last weekend, the Gambian teenager came off the bench and scored in stoppage time, rounding the goalkeeper and finishing calmly to seal another convincing victory for the Dutch champions.
This rounds off a positive few weeks for the 19-year-old winger, who was our first summer signing after sealing a £6m move from Danish side Odense.
Last month he helped spark a comeback draw away to local rivals Sparta Rotterdam, before starting his first Eredivisie game against Almere. Now, he’s come off the bench and bagged his first goal for the club.
