Watford Star Linked With Newcastle Move

According to Sky Sports Senegalese winger, Ismaïla Sarr is linked with a summer move to St James’ Park
Sarr, who was relegated with Watford last season, has two years left on his contract and Watford are considering cashing in for ‘sensible offers’ and Newcastle could be his next destination.
The 24-year-old has been a stand out player for Watford since joining in 2019. Sarr scored 5 goals and got 2 assists last campaign, which was an injury-hit season for the wide-man as he only made 22 appearances.
Sarr’s best season to date came back in the 20/21 season when Watford were in the Championship, scoring 13 goals and claiming 10 assists. Sarr will be hoping to rekindle that form but in the Premier League as he is yet to get past the 5 goal mark after two attempts.
Watford signed Sarr from French side, Stade Rennais for £27,000,000 in the summer of 2019 and The Hornets will be hoping for a profit should the winger depart during this window.
Manchester United and Liverpool have been long term admirers of Sarr but a move has failed to materialise. Liverpool have been keen on Sarr ever since his brace against them in their title-winning season back in 19/20.
Sarr is a right-footed winger who plays on the right meaning his addition would be beneficial to Howe’s 4-4-3 system with Saint-Maximin and Sarr on either side of Callum Wilson. The addition of Sarr could be timely with doubts over the future of Miguel Almiron who currently occupies that right-wing spot due to the injury to Ryan Fraser.
Another winger that has been linked with a move to The Toon is French winger Moussa Diaby who currently plays his trade in the German top flight for Bayer Leverkusen. Diaby had his best season so far with 17 goals and 14 assists in all competitions last season, giving him an impressive 31 goal contributions in 42 games.
He has been one of the main names that have been linked with Newcastle so far this summer, but his £60,000,000 price tag seems to of made The Magpies look at other targets, hence the link to Sarr.
It seems clear that one of Eddie Howe’s priorities this summer is to add a winger that comes straight into the starting 11. This could be to try and add something different to his front line with Allan Saint-Maximin on the opposite flank, having another source of creating and scoring goals while also transitioning the side up the pitch.
Should The Magpies sign Ismaïla Sarr? Would he get in the starting 11?

Harvey Barnes Injury worse than thought – Confirmed

Confirmation has come in this morning that Newcastle United Winger Harvey Barnes has been ruled out until 2024.
The winger doesn’t need surgery however the foot injury will keep him out for 3 months. Eddie Howe has spoken about the injury: “It’s come at a shocking time for him — he was just finding his rhythm & getting to know what is expected of him.”
Eddie Howe on Injuries:
“We think he’s going to be out for around three months. No surgery required which is good news but his foot is now in a boot. It’s an injury underneath his toe.
He’s now started his recovery and he’s got to rest to let it recover then we can build him back up again.”
On Callum Wilson and Sven Botman:
“We’re going to see today. Callum has very minor hamstring tightness.
We’ll give him every chance of being available. Same with Sven – we’ll make a late check on him.”
On Emil Krafth:
“Emil will play for the U21s tonight. It’s really, really good to see him come back and hopefully do well today.”

Watch Yankuba Minteh score first goal for Feyenoord in 5-1 win on Sunday

Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh has scored his first competitive goal for Feyenoord, scoring in Sunday’s 5-1 win over FC Utrecht.
After starting in their 6-1 win over Almere City last weekend, the Gambian teenager came off the bench and scored in stoppage time, rounding the goalkeeper and finishing calmly to seal another convincing victory for the Dutch champions.
This rounds off a positive few weeks for the 19-year-old winger, who was our first summer signing after sealing a £6m move from Danish side Odense.
Last month he helped spark a comeback draw away to local rivals Sparta Rotterdam, before starting his first Eredivisie game against Almere. Now, he’s come off the bench and bagged his first goal for the club.
