From England to Europe – NUFC 23/24 season predictions

Newcastle will begin their Premier League campaign tomorrow with a home fixture against Aston Villa. Meanwhile, we take a look at the big season ahead.
Premier League: Top 6

Newcastle will face fierce competition in the league this year.
After securing Champions League qualification for the first time since the 2002/2003 season, This season, Newcastle will now play European games on top of their Premier League fixtures. New arrivals Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento will provide Eddie Howe with much needed squad depth. However, the increase in games this season will bring a higher injury risk, and a injury to a key player could derail Newcastle’s season. Away from Newcastle, teams around the league have strengthened their squads – most notably Aston Villa, Chelsea and Liverpool. With their increased workload this season, Newcastle will do well to finish in the top six.
Carabao Cup/ FA Cup: Quarter Final
After a heartbreaking defeat to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final last year, fans will be desperate to get their hands on a trophy. With a busy season ahead, Newcastle will most likely field a weaker team in order to maintain squad fitness. That being said, a few favourable fixtures could help the magpies progress. Will it be the main priority? no. Are Newcastle good enough for another cup run? yes.
Champions League – Knockout Stage

BMX4SALE, 1997, Monaco. Newcastle fans love an away day!
With the group draw coming at the end of the month, Newcastle fans around the world will be waiting with bated breath to see their group stage opponents. Players like Kieran Trippier and Sandro Tonaili will be especially important as they have experience in the latter stages of the competition. Also, Champions League nights at St. James’ Park will create a tough atmosphere for the travelling team. With their current squad, Newcastle have the quality to make it out the group stage (provided they don’t find themselves in a group of death). Anything beyond getting out of the group is a bonus. Watch Yankuba Minteh score first goal for Feyenoord in 5-1 win on Sunday

Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh has scored his first competitive goal for Feyenoord, scoring in Sunday’s 5-1 win over FC Utrecht.
After starting in their 6-1 win over Almere City last weekend, the Gambian teenager came off the bench and scored in stoppage time, rounding the goalkeeper and finishing calmly to seal another convincing victory for the Dutch champions.
This rounds off a positive few weeks for the 19-year-old winger, who was our first summer signing after sealing a £6m move from Danish side Odense.
Last month he helped spark a comeback draw away to local rivals Sparta Rotterdam, before starting his first Eredivisie game against Almere. Now, he’s come off the bench and bagged his first goal for the club.
